Dina Lohan creates "Shoe-han," her own shoe line

Lindsay Lohan's recent foray into fashion may have taken a drubbing, but that's not stopping her mother from creating her own shoe line.

"I've always loved shoes," Dina Lohan told Newsday. "I think it stems from when I went to private school and had to wear a uniform; the only thing I could feel stylish about were my shoes."

Lohan's new shoe line, called "Shoe-han," will be sold through LoveMyShoes.com, a designer ladies footwear retailer with stores in Long Island and Queens. They will be available by Mother's Day.

Lohan also will be the store's spokeswoman.

"We hired Dina Lohan because she is a young, attractive working mother, who has excellent taste when it comes to fashion," says Robert Yeganeh, the owner.

Yeganeh says the line will include stylish flats, sexy pumps and funky footwear for fashionable tweens.

All the shoes will cost less than $100.

"These shoes are affordable, which is really important in this economy," Lohan said.

"It's tough for everybody - even us."

Lohan's venture comes on the - ahem - heels of her daughter's co-designing efforts with designer Emanuel Ungaro, whose new collection premiered at Paris Fashion Week and was roundly panned.

Her mother poo-pooed the criticism, saying that the designers of the clothing line "love Lindsay" and noted that her daughter's leggings 6126, and spray tan, Sevin Nyne, are selling well.

"What do the critics know?" Lohan scoffed.

"We'll see what happens when the numbers come out."

When Yeganeh bumped into Lohan at an event six months ago and pitched the idea to her, she agreed.

He said he doubts that recent negative headlines about Lindsay Lohan will hurt the venture.

Meanwhile, Dina Lohan lambasted her ex-husband for his recent comments about what he described as his daughter's prescription drug use.

"You just don't say negative things about your children publicly," said Dina, who said Lindsay is still estranged from her father.

"At least that's how I was raised."

Today is Dina Lohans Birthday.  On behalf of the lohanhouse.com group, we would like to wish Dina a very happy birthday.  Buzz on the street is there will be a suprize party for Dina, Lindsay and Ali somewhere in Manhatten tonight to celebrate the occasion. Due to all the hipe, we are expecting many stars and celebrities to show as well as live music. Does Lindsay Lohan’s mom, Dina Lohan, have a future in the ballroom of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars?” — she’s keeping mum on the matter but does want everyone to know she’s a big fan of the show.

“I’m not allowed to say,” she told New York Magazine when asked about her upcoming career plans at the Animal Fair’s Eighth Annual Halloween Pet Costume Party in New York on Monday. “But I will say that I am a fan of ‘Dancing With the Stars.’”

When the mag pressed Dina, she would not say any more, only laughed.

Daughter Ali Lohan, who was also at the event, told the mag she thinks her mom would be great on “Dancing,” saying, “I think she’d do really good.”

If Dina does compete on the “Dancing”, she’ll join daughter Lindsay on ABC, as the actress just finished a stint on “Ugly Betty.”

Earlier this year, the Long Island-based charity the Mingling Moms Organization will honored Dina Lohan tonight as a “Top Mom” award.
